Here is what we are talking about when compare our MDF edge stick to the competition's wood edge stick. We think the video speaks for itself, but feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

This is one of the doors we have tested in-house. Door does not even have an edge stick. 1/8" pilot hole, screws were removed and replaced 2 times before the test. After 102,776 slams, the hinge screws were removed and replaced again. Door was slammed for more than another 25,000 times. While the edge of the door did show some wear after all of that slamming against the steel frame, joints at the stile and rails did not fail.

Please note that the audio does not do justice to how hard this machine slams our doors.  It is so loud that we could only run it at night, even in a manufacturing environment that is already loud.   However one can see how much the test frame shakes each time.

We also have independently tested results of a 3/0 x 8/0 that exceeded 500,000 slams without failing. They told us they would have kept going but they couldn't deal with the extremely loud slamming anymore.
